From humble beginnings, Temple Ford Design has developed strong relationships with many local contractors and building professionals meaning we can see your work right through from inception to the final touches. Our team is made up of experienced architects with over 50 years or practice to newly qualified technicians who have recently studied the most up to date techniques. We boast a huge range of knowledge and design ability so are confident we can find the right person to listen and work with you to realise your project's full potential.

Matt Pike


Matt is a qualified Architect and Architectural Technologist and has also gained the qualification of an MSc in Building Conservation. His skills benefit the diverse projects we work on. He has experience in all sectors throughout the UK including residential, conservation, educational, industrial and commercial. He is committed to excellent technical and detail design and his expertise in traditional construction techniques or more contemporary technologies add depth to the service we offer.

Duncan (b&w)

Duncan McKellar


Duncan has worked in Scotland, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Europe and in 1989 settled in Chandlers Ford. With a wide range of experience in the private sector and commercial world, he converted a life-long passion in architectural heritage, to an MSc in Building Conservation and is a registered Quinquennial inspecting architect. A visit to the Grade I listed Francis Hotel in Bath will reveal his love of illustration and cartooning, and can be seen in the pictures, wall paper and glass screens.

Matt S (b&w)

Matt Swan


Matt started his studies during a placement at an Architectural firm in Oxfordshire before relocating to Chandlers Ford to begin working with Temple Ford Design in 2015. His areas of particular interest are conservation and sustainability for which he is furthering his knowledge through studying part-time towards a BA (Hons) in Architectural Design and Technology at Solent University. Following completion of his studies, Matt intends to become a Chartered Member of CIAT and gain MCIAT status.


Josh Clarke


Josh joined the team in 2021 after graduating from Solent University with a BA (Hons) in Architectural Design and Technology. He has spent his life living in the Eastleigh district with an aim to pursue his aspersions in the architecture industry. He is now focused on gaining  knowledge and experience working closely within the team at Temple Ford Design to gain MCIAT status. He enjoys working on a range of projects to learn about different construction techniques and to strengthen his problem solving ability.

Nick (b&w)

Nick Farthing


Nick has worked on a wide range of projects across the UK having worked on residential and retail schemes and in the commercial and transport sector. He is able to bring together the relevant parties in any project, ensuring smooth working and timely delivery. Nick has a wealth of experience in facilitating schemes and offers Project Management and Building Surveying, together with Travel Planning and Transport advice through the Town Planning Process.

Cherie (b&w)

Cherie Pike


Cherie is our Finance Manager and brings in excess of 30 years’ experience to the role. She works closely with the directors and the architectural team to ensure the smooth running of all financial matters related to the business. Cherie’s versatility combined with a methodical approach to her work has resulted in a sound knowledge of working protocols and procedures within the practice.
