GRADE II LISTED FORMER VICARAGE
The creation of an open-plan, modern living space was the primary objective for this project. Following working closely with the Conservation Officer, the aim was to make the extension modern in appearance to set it apart from the Grade II Listed house.
To enable this, large expanses of triple glazing were introduced with coated aluminium roof details. Any new brickwork however was constructed with bricks that closely matched the house to provide a subtle visual link.
The addition of the continuous glass link that abuts the existing house allowed the preservation of historical features of the main house and provided natural light to the rear of the extension to make a feature of the exposed historic brickwork.
