A new 3 bedroom, self-build farmhouse was constructed on farmland on the outskirts of Sparsholt. The clients aspirations were for the farmhouse to be traditional in appearance. To allow this, it was proposed that it be constructed using materials such as red-multi facing brick with knapped and coursed flint-work, an oak framed façade to the family room and natural slates to the roof.
The farmhouse was designed to be in context with the local vernacular and the overall height reduced by accommodating the bedrooms in the roof space. The setting in front of the mature oak trees minimised impact on the immediate and wider landscape.
